Zeak Lacy

Mr. Zeak Lacy, 78, of Blytheville, died November 7, 2015 at Great River Medical Center, Blytheville.

He was born May 21, 1937 to John Lacy and Pammie Granger Lacy in Macon, Miss. The family moved to West Memphis where he graduated from Wonder High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from AM&N College, Pine Bluff. He was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and served as the chapter treasurer. He was a Mason and member of St. Andrew Lodge #131.

For 35 years, he was a Mathematics teacher. He taught at Rosenwald High School and Osceola High School at Osceola. Later, he taught in the Blytheville School System until his retirement in 2000. He was a dedicated bus driver and enjoyed greeting students and transporting them to school. He taught Algebra at Mississippi County Community College for many years.

He was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a deacon in 1988. Deacon Lacy served his church well. He was an exemplary Christian with a big heart, a big smile and a community legendary servant.

His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors are his wife Mrs. Annie Bell Lacy of the home;

Three children, Ms. Nicole Lacy, Johnoscar (Regina) Lacy, and Ms. Sonia (Ken Smith, Fiance) Lacy all of Blytheville;

Sister, Mrs. Vinella Easton of Chicago;

Brothers, Reverend James (Doris) Lacy of St. Louis, Mo., and Roy (Bobbie) Lacy of Los Angeles, Calif.;

Eight grandchildren, Shawnteria, Ke'Laysha, Kemahri, Lyric, Ke'Essence, Kyron, Kevion and Tehya all of Blytheville, his in-laws, the Ford families, nieces, nephews, extended family, Fraternity brothers, classmates, children by choice, Ms. Ebony Wells and Mrs. Nicole Gillespie, and his First Missionary Church family.

A Memorial service and visitation with the family will be Saturday, November 14, from 4-6 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, 600 E. McHaney Drive. Visitation and funeral service will be Sunday, November 15, 2015. The visitation is from 1-2 p.m. when the funeral services begin. These services will be held at First Missionary Baptist Church, Reverend Odale Jones, pastor will officiate. Burial will be Monday, November 16 at Paradise Gardens, Edmonson, Ark. At 12 noon. The Funeral Cortege will leave McDonald-Horne Funeral Home on Monday at 10 a.m.
