Library hours unfair to citizens

To the Editor:

I heard through the grapevine that Blytheville Public Library will be closed on Saturday's and Sunday's starting the first weekend of September. This news is disturbing because a lot of college and high school children from all over the county use this to do school work. Also a number of adults who type up resumes or do job searches that cant afford internet at home can only do this on the weekends. If we can spend our tax dollars to secure steel industry plants coming to our county how come we cant secure education tools for our residents? This sends the wrong message to our community. Corporate interests outweigh educational and citizen interests every time. Poor people get the short end of the stick once again.
