Shirley Connealy an asset to county

Friday, April 24, 2015

To the editor:

I have known Shirley Connealy for 30-plus years. Her animal rescue would be an asset to Mississippi County. She has always been for the animals. She has gone out of her way to help and care for all the animals. It doesn't matter how big or small or what kind of animal. When she ran the Blytheville Humane Society, she never had to transport animals out of town or state, or did she ever have to hold adoptions out of town. She did it right there at the Human Society and you didn't have to make an appointment to see an animal -- you could go there and look at all of them.

She will do a great job with the Animal Rescue. The animals will be spayed and neutered before they leave and they will be vetted and have a clear medical record and will be checked on. The animals do not have that now.

Shirley has helped and backed people, and has gone out of her way to help people and their animals. It's about time the people help Shirley. Your donations will go for the animals, not in someone's pockets.
