Student seeks assistance in trip to Ghana

Monday, April 20, 2015

To the editor:

Two years ago, you sent me to Rwanda. Literally. Your incredible generosity and support funded over 80 percent of an incredible opportunity to travel to a beautiful East African country and participate in a service learning trip as an undergraduate student and for that I will forever be grateful.

Now, it's 2015. I am two-thirds of the way into my graduate program and I have the opportunity to pursue an internship on the opposite side of the African continent in Ghana. Over the past year in graduate school here at Boston University, I have really honed in on the area that I want to work in which is human rights. This internship affords me the opportunity to spend six weeks immersed in a work environment specifically in the area of law and human rights. Real experience is invaluable before entering any career field but especially the field that I desire to go into.

I know you all have a heart for seeing justice and more importantly seeing lives mended, relationships restored, and peace brought to those in need. I'm your proxy. Send me to Ghana and let me be an ambassador for this cause. You have supported me before and I am thanking you in advance for your wonderful support yet again. I am humbled to know such generous and loving people!

The deadline for raising the necessary funds is June 1. That's not much time but I believe it can be done.
