Bertha Jane Crabtree

Mrs. Bertha Jane Crabtree, 81, a lifelong Manila resident, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Mrs. Crabtree was born on March 2, 1934, in Thida, Arkansas, to the late Robert Allen and Laura Jane Nolan Davidson. Mrs. Crabtree was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed riding around, coon hunting, rooster fighting and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Crabtree was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmy Sherwood; three sons, Keith Crouse, Eddie Crouse and Marty Smith; two daughters, Susan Crouse and Charla Langston; two brothers, Arvol and Lonnie Davidson; and three sisters, Audrey Butler, Ludeen Ward and Lautella Weatherford.

Survivors include two daughters, Lovetta Freeman of Manila and Vanessa Shirley of Monette;

Two brothers, Leevon Davidson of Bald Knob and R.A. Davidson of Manila;

Nine grandchildren;

Nine great-grandchildren;

Seven great-great-grandchildren; and

A host of other family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Funeral Service Chapel in Manila.
