Vivienne "Viv" Whitworth

Vivienne "Viv" Whitworth, 88, of Rowlett, Texas, for seven years, of Rockwall for 17 years, and of Dallas for almost 30 years, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015.

She was born Nov. 17, 1926, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Naif M. and Louise (Samya) Moore. Viv was a platinum lifetime master bridge player in the ACBL, an avid swimmer and loved playing golf. She was a wonderful cook, had a green thumb and loved her children more than anything as family was paramount. Viv was a devout Catholic.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Nicholas Whitworth on Jan. 3, 2004; a brother, David A. Moore; and her first husband, George N. Abdou, in December of 1955.

Viv is survived by her loving family including children, Pat Lee of Fairview, Texas, Buddy Abdou of Rowlett, Texas, Debbi Brooks and husband Trey of San Antonio, Tammy Eyring and husband Kirk of Houston, Susan Chambers and husband Kevin of Marietta, Georgia, and Teresa Toepel and husband Michael of Tiburon, California;

Twelve grandchildren;

Three great-grandchildren;

A brother, Naif M. Moore and wife Ruby; and

Numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

A funeral mass was held March 20 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rowlett, Texas, with Father Danilo Ramos officiating. Entombment followed in Rest Haven Memorial Park. The family received friends March 19 at the funeral home, with a Rosary service.
