Lawson Albert Enderson

Lawson Albert Enderson passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at the age of 95.

He was born in Halls, Tennessee, to John Ed and Laura Davis Enderson, who had 11 children.

Lawson spent most of his adult life in Blytheville. He worked at Hays Store for 25 years and at Westbrook's for 25 years. He retired at the age of 84. He moved to Sherwood in 2010 to be closer to family.

He resided at Sherwood Nursing Center, where he was known for taking his daily "exercise" by walking through the hallways and singing hymns. Even though he had lost most of his eyesight and hearing, he could sing hundreds of songs from memory and would spontaneously burst into song at random moments to the delight of those around him. He was always happy and appreciated the little things in life, like time with family, a good meal, a sunny day and sitting on the patio. He was able to walk and sing almost every day of his 95-year life until he fell this past Christmas Eve. He loved animals and mourned the loss of his dogs, Ducky and Chubby, and his cat, Peewee. He attended Baptist and Nazarene churches.

He is survived by two brothers, Rex Enderson and Cecil Enderson;

His two sons and their wives and families, Charles and Glenda Enderson of Lubbock, Texas, and their two sons, Glenn and Brian, and their seven grandchildren; and Don and Dwana Enderson of North Little Rock and their two daughters, Shada and Marla, and their one grandchild.

The family is thankful for the caring staff at Sherwood Nursing Center and Hospice. Special thanks to the kind people who go to the nursing home and play piano for the residents, who so enjoy the sing-a-longs. If Lawson were here, he would gratefully add "You Are My Sunshine."

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sherwood Animal Shelter, 6500 North Hills Blvd, Sherwood, Arkansas 72120, or to the Humane Society of your choice.
