Jack C. King, 80, of Blytheville, passed from this life Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

Jack was born in Clay, West Virginia, to Jesse and Opal (White) King. Jack was a retired police officer for the Blytheville Police Department, as well as the Gosnell Police Department. He worked in law enforcement for 20-plus years before retiring. He also retired from the U.S. Air Force as an E-6 tech sergeant. After retirement, He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Jack also enjoyed watching football. The West Virginia Mountaineers were his favorite college team. Jack was a member of Wellspring Church in Blytheville.

Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Betty S. (Hart) King; his parents; and a sister, Wanda Mallory.

He is survived by his children, Jack C. King Jr. and wife Sue of Gosnell, James A. King and wife Connie of Armorel, Penny Lowe and her husband Scott of Gosnell;

Two brothers, Gary King and wife Ruth of Canton, Ohio, and Terry King of Clay, West Virginia;

One sister, Charlotte Norman of Afton, Tennessee; and

Five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Hyde officiating. Entombment will follow at Dogwood Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Cobb Funeral Home.
