Manila -- Charles Stephen Shipley, 49, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, at Great River Medical Center. He was born Dec. 17, 1965, in Gary, Ind. Charles had been an EMT in Indiana and a police officer with Blytheville and Mississippi County departments. He was a fan of NASCAR and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was survived by his wife, Angela Shipley; a son and his wife, Joey and Pam Shipley of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; his parents, Charles and Laverne McGrew Shipley of Manila; two grandchildren, Christopher Shipley and Emilina Craft; two step-grandchildren, Eric Malloni and Ryan Malloni, all from Lawrenceburg; a sister, Shari Mortin (Thomas Davis) of Manila; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Henry Shipley; two grandmothers, Carrie Shipley Bolton and Eula McGrew, and a cousin, Darryl McGrew.

A celebration of his life was 1 p.m. Monday, Feb, 23, at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette. Burial followed at Mitchell Cemetery.

The family received friends from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Joey Shipley, Charles Murphy Jr., Chris George, Tommy Davis, Jack Powell and Duane Hayes.
