Edith L. LaFarlette

Edith L. LaFarlette, 98, of Monette passed away Feb. 20, 2015, in St. Bernards Hospital under the care of St. Bernards Hospice. She was born May 6, 1916, in Harrisburg to the late Charles E. and Laura M. Adams Coleman. She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister who spent her life taking care of others.

Survivors include her brother, Pat Coleman of Bonafay, Fla.; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. LaFarlette was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lloyd LaFarlette; three sons, Charles, Sherman and Jimmy LaFarlette; and two daughters, Betty Lou Cole and Evelyn Coker, as well as a sister, Frances Jones, and a brother, Lloyd Coleman.

The family received friends at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22. Graveside funeral services followed at 2 p.m in Monette Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating.
