Virginia Pearl Pittman

Monette -- Virginia Pearl Pittman, 79, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015 at her residence. She was born Oct. 18, 1935, in Cardwell, Mo., to the late John Franklin and Jewell Lois Carter Glenn. She was an EMT for 23 years with the Buffalo Island Ambulance Service in Monette and District Softball Commissioner, umpire and softball coach for 23 years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Curley Pittman; her children and their spouses, Cathy and Tracy Douglas, Jeff and Lisa Pittman and Stephen and Shannon Pittman; nine grandchildren, Keith, Brett, Bridgett, Taylor and Lindsey, Katelyn, Kirsten, Tristan, Krista; three great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Cameron and Corbin; two sisters, Pauline Earnheart and Mary Milligan; a brother, Sid Glenn.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, J. F. Glenn, Bud Glenn and Jim Glenn.

A celebration of her life was 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Monette Church of Christ with Rev. Zane Gragg, Art Smith and Josh Parnell officiating. Burial followed at Cardwell Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

The family received friends from noon until time of service Friday at the church.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Keith Milligan, Terry Chambers, Michael Thorpe, Wade Spikes, Wyeth Spikes and Brandon Crump.
