Jane Hubbard died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, in Jonesboro.

She was born Nov. 3, 1927, in Senatobia, Mississippi, and grew up there. Her parents were William Alexander and Shirley Scott Sheddan of Senatobia.

Jane was a graduate of The University of Mississippi. Upon graduation, she moved to Blytheville to teach English at Blytheville High School. She soon married George and retired to raise three boys, a full-time job.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Chapter D PEO and the Blytheville Junior Auxiliary.

She loved the theater, the symphony, museums and traveled extensively in her later years. Her last years were spent at St. Bernard's Village, where she enjoyed bridge, book clubs and visits from her great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George G. Hubbard Jr., and her parents.

She is survived by her sons, George Hubbard III and Renee, Dr. Bill Hubbard and Teresia Graddy and Ben Hubbard and Jill;

Her grandchildren, Catherine Hubbard Adams and Darren, Elizabeth Hubbard, Marshall Hubbard and Amy, George Hubbard IV, Abigail Hubbard Ishihara and Kent and Amanda Jones;

Her great-grandchildren, Jackson and John Riley Adams, MaryJane, Catherine and Boaz Ishihara and another Ishihara baby girl due in March; and

Many special cousins.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Blytheville, with graveside services immediately following at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will precede the services from 1-3 p.m. in the church parlor.

The family requests that memorials be made to Lights of the Delta, First United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
