LV Lamon Jr.

Mr. LV Lamon Jr., 69, of Blytheville, passed from this life on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at his home.

Born to LV and Mary Sue Lonon Lamon in Alamo, Tennessee, he was an area resident for most of his life. He was the retired owner of LV's Used Cars and attended Gospel Lighthouse in Blytheville as well as Steele Assembly of God Church in Steele when possible.

LV was one of the friendliest individuals you would ever meet. He loved to talk and was always ready to sit down and reminisce about the good old days or talk about cars or even just the weather. With his outgoing personality, LV didn't take long to become your friend. His friendship meant that anytime you needed help he would be there if at all possible, for his word was his bond. He was a loving and devoted husband of 50 years, a father and grandfather who knew that times spent with family were precious moments and to be enjoyed fully. A few years ago, LV developed Parkinson's disease and was an inspiration of courage, strength and love. He battled this illness with all he had, together with the love and support of family and friends. Yes, he still loved to talk, and his conversations never centered on his troubles but always concerned about "how you doin'?" and "I'm so glad to see you." What made LV special was no matter where or what, he was always the same.

He was preceded in death by his parents, LV Lamon and Mary Sue Miller; and siblings, William Howard Miller and Margaret Metheny.

LV is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Wanda Lamon of the home;

His children, LV Lamon III and Niki Armstrong of Blytheville, Gail and Ed Barger of Trumann, Parene and Patrick McKie of Stevensville, Michigan;

His grandchildren, Megan Taylor, Colton Taylor, Emily Gascoigne, Lexi Lamon, Amy Barger, Pike Barger, Greg Anderson and Wade Anderson; and

His siblings, Danny Miller of Tennessee and Billy Miller of Blytheville.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark White and Billy Holifield officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, and the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Cobb Funeral Home.
