Mrs. Betty Jo Ray Askue, 73, of Gosnell passed from this life on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015 in Gosnell.

Born to William and Winnie Cannon Ray in Mississippi County, Arkansas, she was a lifelong resident. Betty was a homemaker and attended the First United Pentecostal Church of Manila.

Betty loved to sing and loved all types of music. She always looked forward to the time when Otis and the kids would get their guitar and play along with her.

She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Being surrounded by her family was what she enjoyed more than anything in the world. She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Alan Hall and Glen Hall; brother, William Howard Ray and sister, Mary Perritt.

Betty is survived by her husband, Otis Askue of the home;

Children, Rita and Tony Kuenzly of Southaven, Mississippi, Ricky and Rhonda Hall Of Elgin, Illinois, Sheryl Ann Hall of Gosnell, Becky Hall of Gosnell, James Hall of Holland, Michigan, Jacky Hall of the Philippines, Tony and Jeaneth Hall of Gosnell, Mary Hall of South Haven, Michigan, Emmett Hall of Gosnell, Johnny Askue of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Michael Askue of Blytheville;

Siblings, Dianne Hudson of Ripley, Tennessee, Peggy Sherrill of Killen, Texas, Dorothy and Bill Crump of Blytheville, Jack and Susie Ray of Dell, Debbie Watkins of Blytheville;

33 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, Jan., 19, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Robert White officiating and burial in Dogwood Cemetery.
