Bernard Crouse

Bernard Crouse, 86, of Manila, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at St Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Manila he was the son of the late Charlie and Mary Parker Crouse and was a 1948 graduate of Manila High School. A lifelong Manila resident, he was retired from the former Milwaukee Electric Tool Company in Blytheville and was a longtime member of Bethany Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl Crouse, Ernest Crouse, Wesley Crouse and Chester Crouse; three sisters, Ortha Scott, Rachel Hensley and Marie Smith, and an infant son, Keith Crouse.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linda McGrew Crouse of the home; his son, Chris George of Manila; three daughters, Lovetta Freeman of Manila, Vanessa Shirley of Monette and Teresa Hodges of Manila; three sisters, Delphia Waddell of Manila, Bernice Ellis of St. Louis, Mo., and Delora Brown of Gosnell. He also leaves 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with the Rev. J. Wayne Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until service time. Serving as active pallbearers will be Blake Webster, Raymond Crouse, Dewayne Crouse, Michael Hart, Bobby Shirley and Jim Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be James Thomas, Ray Boone, Larry Tyler and Marvin Helton.
