Dwayne Haigwood

Dwayne Haigwood, 84, of Manila, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at the NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

Born in Sandtown, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Hubert and Virgie Kelley Haigwood and was raised in the Batesville area. A Manila resident for over 60 years, he was a retired farmer and longtime member of the Browns Chapel Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Deaton Haigwood; and two sisters, Dortha Haigwood Qualls and Beatrice Haigwood Huff.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Cathy Haigwood of Monette;

One granddaughter, Kelly Haigwood Flye and her husband, Jesse, of Jonesboro; and

Two great-grandsons, Cooper and Dawson Flye.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with the Rev. Larry Deaton officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
