Opinion of local hospital turns out to be wrong

Friday, December 19, 2014

To the editor:

Recently we were told that my wife was to have minor surgery. Dr. Shahriari, her attending physician, recommended she have the operation at the local hospital and that Dr. Mason be the surgeon.

This didn't sound too good because my opinion of Blytheville's hospital is probably like yours. But let me tell you, we were all wrong! The operation turned out to be major surgery with a prolonged stay in the hospital.

Dr. Shahriari is my neighbor, but Dr. Mason is an unknown surgeon that is moving to Blytheville, and I would recommend him to my best friend. The nurses were top-notch with very professional care and a good attitude, every one of them. The rooms were clean and very desirable.

The next time you need medical service, you might want to give the local hospital a chance and avoid those long drives to Jonesboro or Memphis.
