Fannie Mae Mitchell, 78, of Osceola, died of heart failure on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, in Osceola.

Born May 21, 1936, in Brownsville, Tennessee, she was a retired cook and a member of Pleasant View MB Church of Osceola.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Patton; a daughter, Jeanette Lewis; two sons, Johnnie Mitchell and Larry Mitchell; and two brothers, Willie L. Bonds and Russell Jarrett Jr.

Ms. Mitchell leaves one daughter, Mary Ann (Leslie) Simmons of Osceola;

Two sons, Robert Smith Jr. and James O. (Verna) Smith of Osceola; and

Fifteen grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem MB Church of Osceola. Funeral services, officiated by Dr. Moses Black, will begin at 2 p.m., directly following visitation. Burial will follow at Whiteside Cemetery.
