Ola Mae Fletcher

Mrs. Ola Mae Fletcher, 73, of Monette, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. Born Oct. 17, 1941 in Kennett, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Robert and JoAnn Stanley Smith and had been a long time area resident. Mrs. Fletcher was a 1960 graduate of Bay High School and was married to Jim Fletcher of Black Oak in 1961. Mrs. Fletcher was a Christian and enjoyed cooking, taking care of her great-grandsons and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jim Fletcher of the home; two daughters, Sue Willyerd and husband David of Black Oak and Renee Uthoff and husband Tony of Evening Shade; granddaughters, Jessica Willyerd and Josh McCallie, Whitney Pennington and husband Jeff, Kristin Luetschwager and husband Brian; great-grandsons, Carson Pennington and William Luetschwager; four brothers, Von Smith and wife Martha of Bay, Hoarce Smith and wife Joan of Tennessee, Gary Smith and wife Lala of Trumann, and Jack Smith of Utah. Mrs. Fletcher also leaves several nieces and nephews, special friends, Kristy Whitley Liles, Bishop Whitley, Kendra Whitley Hawkins and Jodiee Clay, and a host of other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, J.B. Smith.

Memorial services were 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at the Black Oak Church of Christ with Mr. Eddie Dunigan and Mr. Jerry "Chubb" Qualls officiating.

The family received visitors from 1 p.m. until service time Dec. 15 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the St. Jude's Hospital.

Faith Funeral Service of Manila was in charge of arrangements.
