Teen Summit called a success

Friday, November 28, 2014

The Oct. 31 Mississippi County Teen Summit, in which the Blytheville School District played a big part, was again a major success. The event, hosted by Arkansas Northeastern College, included students from Blytheville, Osceola, Rivercrest, Manila, Armorel and Gosnell. The Blytheville High School students gathered in the ANC Recital Hall for a photo during the afternoon. Students received information at the summit about alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, and they learned more about how to make a difference in their communities by remaining drug-free. Andrew Kumpuris of Little Rock was the special guest speaker, and he gave an emotional testimony about driving while under the influence of alcohol. After speaking to the students, Kumpuris posed for a photo with Blytheville 'TARGET' Club leaders (from left) Tobey Johnson, Harriett Jumper and Randy Jumper.
