Elzie Combs Jr.

Elzie Combs Jr., 84, of Osceola, died of heart failure on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.

Born Nov. 12, 1929, in Belzoni, Miss., he was retired from the city of Osceola's sanitation department and was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elzie Combs Sr. and Willie Ann Williams; his wife, Josephine Combs; a sister, Carsie Taylor; a brother, Cetotha Clayton; and one grandson.

Mr. Combs leaves one daughter, Martha Thomas Williams of Osceola;

Five sons, Bart Robinson and Steven Robinson, both of Osceola, Earvin Thomas of East Cleveland, Ohio, Vincent Robinson of Kuwait City and Stancy Robinson of Jonesboro;

One sister, Magalene Combs of Oklahoma;

Two brothers, Charlie Bland and B.J. Williams, both of Chicago; and

Fourteen grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola.

Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Archie Thomas, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Livingword Cathedral in Osceola. Burial will follow at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola.
