Wednesday, November 5, 2014

Latricia "Trish" Diane Martin, 39, of the Lone Oak Community (Blytheville) passed from this life on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

Born to James B. and Helen Morris Martin in Marianna, she was a member of the Well Springs Assembly of God Church. Latricia was an amazing woman in the sense that since she was 3, she was legally blind. Although handicapped with this since childhood, she never let it stop her. Over the years, she would meet one challenge after another and somehow had what was needed to overcome these obstacles.

Many times this was accomplished through her greatest characteristic, which was trust. Everyone she met, she would think they were perfect and would totally put her trust in them. Her love was without boundaries, always seeing the good in people. She also had a special bond with her parents, especially her mom. She loved going shopping and would spend hours with her mom walking through the stores and malls (James would find a place to sit) and didn't care if they bought anything or not. Mainly, it was the special time she got to spend with her parents and family that was so important in her life.

When possible, she would spoil herself with the one activity she loved so much, which was tanning. It was the special moment when peace and warmth and relaxation would give her rest.

Trish was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Morris and Stuart and Essie Clark Martin; and uncle, Dewayne Morris; nephews, Justin Martin and Nicholas Miller; and a sister-in-law, Kym Branscum Martin.
