Emma Jo Masner Conner, 95, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Poplar Ridge to the late Elmore and Meldora Masner. She was a retired teacher and a member of the Monette First Baptist Church. Mrs. Emma Jo enjoyed walking and hiking and loved her family.

She is survived by a granddaughter, Anna Ommanney of Hollywood, Calif.; a brother, John Paul Masner of Jonesboro; a sister, Billie Wilkes of Williamburg, Vir.; a niece, Carolyn Sockwell; a nephew, Joe Masner; a great-nephew, Jason Sockwell and family; a great-niece, Chelsea Rupard, all of Jonesboro; and many other friends and family.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Samuel Conner and Len Dokken; a son, Philip Conner; two granddaughters, Angela Conner and Gretchen Conner; four sisters, Stella Wallace, Minnie Kaplan, Jessie Jance and Mabel Berry; two brothers, Elmer Masner and Nath Masner.

A celebration of her life was held Saturday, Sept. 13, at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. Rusty Bird officiating. Burial was at Monette Memorial Cemetery.
