Carl Owen Beck, Jr.

Carl Owen Beck, Jr., 62, of Manila, passed from this life Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at his home. Born in Alton, Ill., he was the son of the late Carl Owen and Dorothy Robinson Beck and had lived most of his adult life in Wichita, Kan., before making his home in Manila. He was a 1970 graduate of Alton High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a retired restaurant manager having managed the Village Inn in Wichita, Kan., and Perkins in Blytheville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Jonathan Beck and Brad Beck, and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Hill Beck of the home; two sons, Carl Owen Beck, Jr. I and Chris Beck and his wife Stacey all of Alton, Ill.; one daughter, Nancy Beck of Alton, Ill.; three stepsons, Casey Hall, John Hall and David Hall, all of Manila; five Brothers, Mike Beck of Salem, Mo., Paul Beck of Ft. Smith, Mo., Tony Beck of Salem, Mo.; Keith Beck and Chuck Beck, both of Alton, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Pamelia Beck of Wichita, Kan.; and 21 grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday, Sept. 3, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. The family request services to be private.
