Harvey Alten Franklin, 73 of Tyler, Mo., passed from this life into his glorious eternal life on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at his home in Tyler.

Born to Floyd and Johnnie Luna Franklin in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., he was a resident of this area for most of his life. Harvey was a machinist for the Ball Corporation and attended the Heartland Pentecostal Church in Gosnell. He loved fishing and spending time in the great outdoors and working jigsaw puzzles. Harvey's love for his family, especially his grandchildren, was unquestionable as he spent every moment he could with them. Harvey had a deep-seated faith in God which led him through the hard times as well as the good. He was also proud of his marriage to Mary Virginia Forsythe which lovingly lasted for 53 years. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Franklin.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Forsythe Franklin of the home;

Four daughters, Regina and Lyle Davis of Tyler, Teresa and Chris Upchurch of Boaz, Ala., Selena and Jason Anderson of Finley, Tenn., and Monica and Dale Putman of Tyler;

Ten grandchildren, Patrick Ward, Jordan Anderson, Macie Upchurch, Kailee Upchurch, Brianna Anderson, Jacob Anderson, Lauren Putman, Shawn Davis, Amy Keithley and Ryan Putman;

Three great-grandchildren, Kinley Davis, and Brodi and Riley Keithley;

Six brothers, Larry Franklin and Barbara; Roy Franklin and Patricia, Wesley Franklin and Katie, Leslie Franklin and Sandra, Troy Franklin and Tina, Terry Franklin and Vickie; and

Three sisters, Bonnie Rowe and Cletus, Evelyn Cox and Barbara Rowe and Marley.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Bobby McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Number 8 Cemetery in Cooter.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Cobb Funeral Home.
