Ern Max Richardson, 74, of Dexter, Mo., formerly of Blytheville, passed away Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at home.

He was born in Holland, Mo., to Lee Ollie Richardson and Mary Idell Lee Richardson. He was a Christian and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Gosnell. Mr. Richardson served several years in the National Guard. He worked in factories for about 15 years before becoming a plumber. He was co-owner of Lincoln Sewers in Chicago. He worked until he retired about six years ago because of a disability.

He enjoyed cooking out and baseball (the Chicago Cubs), but his favorite pastime was watching NASCAR races. He wouldn't miss a race! He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed kidding around with family. Above everything else, he really enjoyed spending time with his grandson and great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Conrad Richardson and Herbert Richardson; and two sisters, Wilma Dych and Louise Chesser.

He is survived by his grandson, Tim and Holly Richardson, of Valpraiso Ind;

Three great-granddaughters, Kaylee Richardson, Jaisea Richardson and Kalyn Struee, all of Valpraiso;

Two brothers, Phillip and Peggy Richardson of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Leonard and Leda Richardson of Blytheville;

One sister, Beulah Mercer, of Dexter; and

Other friends and relatives.

A special thank you to Preferred Hospice of Dexter for providing compassionate care to Mr. Richardson.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Condolences can be offered at www.carneyfuneralhome.com.
