James Earl Golden

James Earl Golden, 64, of Detroit, Mich., formerly of Blytheville, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, in Detroit.

Born April 15, 1950, in Clarksdale, Ark., he worked for General Motors and was a member of the Church of God in Christ faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Golden.

Survivors include one daughter, Shawntese (Ronald) Williams of Detroit;

One son, James (Marshell) Lee of Detroit;

His mother, Hazel Chambers Golden of Blytheville;

Four sisters, Erma Golden of Jonesboro, Gloria Harris of Memphis, Marcie Thompson of Blytheville and Hazel Taylor of Detroit;

Four brothers, Willie Golden of Blytheville, Willie Charles Golden and Danny Golden, both of Atlanta, and Tony Golden of Bloomington, Ind.; and

Fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Gospel Temple Church. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Charles Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens.

Wilson Funeral Home of Blytheville is in charge of arrangements.
