William Murray Prather Jr.

William Murray Prather Jr., 67, of Marked Tree, died of heart failure on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Methodist University of Memphis.

Born Jan. 23, 1947 in Tyronza, he was a retired farm mechanic and a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Murray Prather Sr. and Lucille Prather, a sister, Inez Foote, and a brother, Roy Prather.

Mr. Prather leaves two daughters, Sherry (Greg Plunk) Gibson of Marked Tree and Sandra (Jason) Barnes of Marked Tree;

Two sons, Michael Wood of Arkansas and Scotty Needler of Crawfordsville;

Three sisters, Betty Prather and Dorothy Childress, both of St. Charles, and Shirley Mann of Newport;

One brother, Walter Prather of Corinth;

Nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Wilson Funeral Home of Tyronza. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Mark Constant, will begin directly following visitation. Burial will follow at Nichols Cemetery in Marked Tree.
