Something needs to be done about stray dogs

To the editor:

I am writing in regard to the stray dog problem that Blytheville has. This last weekend, I let my dog outside to go to the bathroom, in my yard. Only 5 minutes later, I heard a deafening growl followed by a loud cry.

I ran to my dog's aid, only to find that the huge stray dog had him in his mouth. I threw something at the dog and he stopped and looked at me like he was going to attack me. My dog ran under my house where he died soon after because I could not get him out.

My family and I are devastated that my little dog had to die this way. I have seen over 10 stray dogs at a time walking together, and these are not small dogs. They look like Great Danes. They are not scared of people, and what if my child was in the yard at the time? Would somebody do something about these dogs if they attacked someone?

Thanks for your time.
