Willard Mosley

Mr. Willard Mosley, 82, of Gosnell, passed from this life Sunday, June 15, 2014, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was the owner of Mosley & Sons Motorcycle Repair. Willard was born in Gosnell to Henry Edgar Washington and Lorene Josephine (McGill) Mosley, and was a lifelong Gosnell resident, where he was very active in the community.

Mr. Mosley was a retired officer from the Gosnell Police Department, a volunteer firefighter and founded the Gosnell Fire Department. The Gosnell fire station was named after Mr. Mosley in his honor because of the countless hours he spent organizing the department and constructing the station. He was also the former code enforcement officer for Gosnell, and had worked for the Randall Company for over 20 years until the Blytheville plant closed.

Mr. Mosley was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to hunt and fish in his spare time. He attended Bethany Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother Tommy Mosley, and 2 sisters Linnie Cosby and Stella Bowers.

Survivors include his wife, Mae Smith Mosley of the home;

Three children, Delmer L. Mosley and his wife, Jamie, and Robbie Mosley and his wife, Annmarie, all of Paragould, Kathy Baker and husband, Joel, of Gosnell;

A sister, Carol Mosley of Manila;

Six grandchildren, Heather Ruth and husband, Nick, Leslie Wells and husband, Jonathan, Hadyn Mosley, Callie Mosley, Michael May, Lisa Quick and husband, Chris; and

Seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan, Dalton, Abby, Cameron, Gavin, and Gracie.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Billy Holifield officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Condolences may be made at cobbfuneralhome.com
