Ronald Wayne "Ron" Fry

Ronald Wayne "Ron" Fry, 79, of Mountain Home, former Cardwell, Mo., resident, passed from this life Thursday, May 15, 2014m at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Mio. Born in Cardwell to the late Roy and Flossie Fleeman Fry, he grew up in Cardwell and was a 1953 graduate of Cardwell High School.

After high school he joined the U.S. Air Force and later had his own insurance agency which he greatly enjoyed and at which he was very successful.

He married Janice Curtis Oct. 4, 2008, and they were happily married for six years. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church in Mountain Home. Ron loved fishing, motor homing, making others laugh and being with his friends at Buzzard Roost Boat Dock. He enjoyed time with his grandchildren, going out to feed the horse treats, and talking to his friends on the phone. Ron especially enjoyed his evening drives to the lake to watch the ducks.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lynn Fry.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Curtis Fry of Mountain Home;

A daughter, Missy Fry of Amarillo, Texas;

A son, Jeff Fry of Amarillo, Texas;

A sister, Nina Buck and her husband, Jackie, of Paragould;

Two step-daughters, Shelly Curtis of Gainesville, Mo., and Shena Brown of Mountain Grove, Mo.;

One step-son, Willie Curtis of Rockbridge, Mo.;

He also leaves his grandchildren, Tagan and Tanner of Amarillo, Texas; and

His step-grandchildren, Kellie, Farrah, Shelby and Alley of Gainesville, Mo., and Brianna of Ava, Mo., and Devin of Mountain Grove, Mo.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Cardwell Cemetery with the Rev. Rick Melick officiating. The family will receive visitors from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville. Guests may register at Howard Funeral Service.com
