Golena Lumpkins McBride

Mrs. Golena Lumpkins McBride, 81, of Osceola, died Friday, March 21, 2014, in Jonesboro. Born July 9, 1932, she was a retired housekeeper at SMC Medical Center and a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Osceola where she was on the Mother Board and the Usher Board.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert McBride; three sisters, Eula Speights, Melvin Allen and Katie Swanigan; and four brothers, Walter Lee Lumpkins, Nathaniel Lumpkins, Alford Lumpkins and Joe Lumpkins.

Mrs. McBride leaves six daughters, Marilyn Garrett and Sandra Jordan, both of Memphis, Marlene Robinson and Marcia McBride, both of Little Rock, Althalena Mosely of Osceola, and Wanda (and Danny) Collins of Jonesboro; and

Fourteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Osceola with Bro. Broderick McBride officiating. Burial will follow at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola.
