Ralph Eugene Goacher Sr.

Mr. Ralph Eugene Goacher Sr., 81, of Blytheville, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Lakeside Nursing Home in Lake City.

Born Aug. 9, 1932, in Stuttgart, he was the son of the late Roy and Emeline Bloohm Goacher. Mr. Goacher was a member of First Lutheran Church in Blytheville where he was an elder and was avid in church activities. Mr. Goacher was in the Civil Service for the Eaker Airforce Base in Blytheville and was a bus driver for the Blytheville School District. He enjoyed spending time with this family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marietta Fairweather Goacher;

One son, Ralph Eugene Goacher Jr.;

One grandson, Ralph Eugene Goacher III; and

Siblings Donald Goacher, Vivian Goacher Borchert, Lois Goacher Wallace and Gladys Greene Goacher.

He is survived by one daughter, Roena and husband Don of Benton;

One son, Daniel Goacher and his wife Mary of Osceola;

One brother, Leon Goacher and wife Paulette of Carlisle;

One sister, Caroline Biggs and husband Troy of Austin;

Three grandchildren, Celeste Pearson and husband Jason, Cheryl Robinson and Jennifer Goacher; and

Eight great-grandchildren, Jase Pearson, Emma Jackson, Drusilla Westfall, Harley Westfall, Vanessa Goacher Lynch, Emma Lee Goachers, Kristina Goacher Lynch and Serenity Goacher Lynch.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, located at Sixth and Walnut in Blytheville, with the Rev. Dennis FitzPatrick officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church. The family has requested a private disposition under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, The Alzheimer's Association or First Lutheran Church in Blytheville.
