Frank Levern McCormick

Frank Levern McCormick, 83, of Manila passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at the St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born Oct. 24, 1930, in Moko, he was the son of the late Orvile Edgar and Lillian Decker McCormick and had been a long time area resident. Mr. McCormick was of the Baptist faith and a United States Army veteran. He farmed around the Milligan Ridge community and enjoyed fishing, duck hunting and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shelia McCormick of the home; three sons, Thomas McCormick and wife Sarah of Jonesboro, Danny McCormick and wife Tina of Monette and Christopher McCormick and wife Amber of Jonesboro; two daughters, Linda Rench of Manila and Melodie Matayabas and husband Mark of Paragould; one daughter-in-law, Kim McCormick; one brother, Larry McCormick of Porterville, Calif.; one sister, Jean Simons of Florida. Mr. McCormick also leaves 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Wayne McCormick; five brothers, J.T. McCormick, Herschel McCormick, Owen McCormick, Bobby McCormick and Neil McCormick; and one sister, Alice Faye Hicks.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Faith Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Bro. Waymon Holt officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
