George Phillip Ambrose Sr.

Mr. George Phillip Ambrose Sr., 70, of Osceola, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, in Blytheville. Born Sept. 8, 1943, to the late Wendell Philip Ambrose and Jewell Ambrose, he was a retired postman and a member of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Ambrose leaves his wife, Ollie Ambrose of Osceola;

Five daughters, Carol (and Wallace) Williams of Austin, Texas, Angela (and Arthur) Jacobs of Clarksville, Tenn., Beverly Riley of Jonesboro, and Stephanie Riley and Phyllis Ambrose of Osceola;

Two sons, George Phillip Ambrose Jr., of San Antonio, Texas, and Wendell Phillip (and Kim) Ambrose of Chicago;

Eleven grandchildren, Wallace Williams III, Arthur Jacobs Jr., Zachery Jacobs, Amani Riley, Solomon Riley, Krystal Riley, Jewell Mitchell, Melody Brown, Jerard Ambrose, Sharita Ambrose, Wendel Phillip Ambrose IV, and Keaonna Ambrose; and

Four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola with Joe Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola. The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola.
