Martha Mays Woods

Mrs. Martha Mays Woods, 87, of Holland, Mo., passed from this life earlier today, Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at her home.

Born in Iuka, Miss., to Earnest and Thelma Hill Mays, she was a former member of Woodland Corner Baptist Church and was employed at Angio Manufacturing Company, where she worked as a presser.

Martha enjoyed sewing, needlework and working in her garden. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was devoted to her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Thurman Floyd Pate and M.L. Woods; and her children, Travis Pate, Floyd Pate and Martha Y. Doyle.

Martha is survived by her children, Patricia C. Brown and husband, Billy, and Marvin D. Pate and wife, Shirley, all of Birmingham, Ala., Bernice Fikes of Blytheville, and Eugene Pate and wife, Cindy, of Holland, Mo., and

Her sisters, Virginia Scott and husband, Bobby, of Phil Campbell, Ala., and Bretha Stokes of Birmingham, Ala.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences to the family may be expressed at cobbfuneralhome.com
