Katherine Ann 'Kay' Clere

Mrs. Katherine Ann "Kay" Clere, 76, of Fairchance Rd., Morgantown, W. Va., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, Dec. 31, 2013, at her residence.

She was born in Blytheville Aug. 5, 1937, a daughter of the late Marshall Blackard and the late Ethel (Dark) Blackard. She graduated in 1955 from Blytheville High School.

She loved children, Mickey Mouse, Elvis Presley and all things southern. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother and wonderful lady who would do anything for anyone. She spent several years running a daycare and took care of several neighborhood children. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Lee Clere;

Four children, Marshall Clere of Arizona, Jimmy Clere and his wife, Anna, of New Zealand, Kenneth Clere and his wife, Toni, of Greenville, S.C., and Crystal Musgrove and her husband, Steve, of Grafton;

Six grandchildren, Christopher, Rebecca, Katie Rose and Carolyn Jo Clere, and Joshua and Jordan Ann Musgrove; and

Her three sisters, Marsha Farrell and her husband, Jack, of Arnold, Mo., Sally Bruns of North Carolina and Maryola Martin of Mississippi.

Family and friends were received at Hastings Funeral Home, Morgantown, W. Va., Monday, Jan. 6. Interment followed in the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown, W. Va.
