Charles Roy Miller, 82, of Manila, passed from this life Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at the Manila Nursing Center. Born Dec. 11, 1931, in Baltimore, Md., to the late Roscoe and Mamie Johnson Miller, he was raised in Kennett, Mo., and had lived in Manila for the past 50 years. He was the former owner and operator of Miller's Dry Cleaning in Manila, had worked in sales for the Reliable Insurance Company, and retired from the Department of Human Services in Blytheville. He was a longtime member and song leader at the Manila Church of Christ and had been very active in Manila baseball and football programs.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Miller, and a daughter, Susan Miller.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Shirley Miller of Cabot and Tony and Melanie Miller of Manila; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Rick Metheny of Dresden, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at the funeral home.
