Tanna Laura Welch

Mrs. Tanna Laura Welch, 77, of Bassett, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Northeast Arkansas Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. Born Feb. 1, 1936, in New Albany, Miss., she was a retired factory worker and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover Cleveland Elder and Opal Mattson; her husband, Vernon Lee Welch; daughters Patricia Ann Welch and Kimberly Irene Westbrook; sisters Francis Dearman, Martha Hill and Julia Virginia Self; and brothers Larry Gene Elder and Grover Cleveland Elder II.

Mrs. Welch leaves three daughters, Joyce Marie (and Robert) Martin of Lancaster, Laura Gaye Duck of Bassett and Kali Marie Welch of Bassett;

Five sons, Terry Lee (and Jody) Welch and Stephen (and Dianna) Welch of Bassett, Vernon Lee "Leebo" (and Teresa) Welch II of Lafe, Paul David "P.D." (and Donna) Welch of Wilson, and Chad Everett (and Alexandria) Welch of Joiner;

Two sisters, Sarah Ann Harris of Houston and Mary Elder Allen Swooth of Warren; and

Seventeen grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Dennis McElyea, were be held at 11 a.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Burial followed at Bassett Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola.
