Pauline Bell Marr, 89, of Blytheville, died Sunday, Dec. 22, at Gosnell Healthcare.

She was born June 26, 1924, to Jodie Bell and Jessie Warden Bell of Heber Springs. She was the widow of Francis C. Marr who preceded her in death in 1973.

Pauline was a lady who was "way ahead of her time." She had three daughters and taught them all to be very independent. Education was also very important to her, and she felt like women, as well as men, should be well-educated. She was a "good friend," a good listener and loved spending time with her friends, often having them over for coffee and a good chat.

She enjoyed working in her flower garden, and she loved to read. She worked for several years at Southwestern Bell in Heber Springs, before moving to Blytheville. She retired after working many years at Farmers Bank. She was a member of First Baptist Church for more than 50 years.

She is survived by her three daughters, Dr. Rita Marr (and husband Edwin McCrory III) of Houston, Texas, Barbara Marr of Blytheville and Amy Marr of Jonesboro; and

One grandson, Clayton McCrory of Houston, Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Friday at Carney Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tommy J. Carney officiating. Visitation will take place from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.
