Evelyn Ada Melvin

Mrs. Evelyn Ada Melvin, 88, of Lepanto, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, in Jonesboro. Born Dec. 25, 1924, to the late Frank Switzer and Viola Switzer, she was a retired factory worker and a member of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Melvin; three daughters; four sisters; and three sons, Junior Lee Byrd, Jessie Switzer and Billy Switzer.

Mrs. Melvin leaves one daughter, Jean Brand of Lepanto;

Two sons, James Brown of Truman and Charles Brown of Cabool, Mo.; and

Seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist in Lepanto. Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza is handling arrangements.
