Annual Squad fundraiser set for Saturday

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

To the editor:

The Blytheville Emergency Squad Annual Auction Fundraiser is set for Nov. 2.

Every year the Emergency Squad has an auction in an attempt to raise funding to be able to keep the group available to the community for all types of emergencies.

This group is made up of volunteers that live and work in our community every day but just go the extra mile to lend a helping hand in our times of need. Whether it is an accident, medical situation, public event, missing person or a boating incident, these guardian angels will be here for the tri-state area and you'll never receive a bill for the work they do.

This is one of the most important reasons to support the Squad.

This Saturday, starting at 1 p.m. at the Expo building in Walker Park, the Emergency Squad will hold their annual fundraiser. Everyone in the tri-state area is asked to donate something of value that can be auctioned off either silently or by one of the south's biggest and best auctioneer mouths, Mike Leathers.

If you've never attended the annual fundraiser, you are definitely missing out on a lot of fun. This year has changed up a little to start earlier so that kids can enjoy blow-ups, and live entertainment has been added before the live auction kicks off.

There will be food and fun for all ages, along with great fall weather.

It takes everyone from business owners to citizens in the area to make this fundraiser a success, so please make time and take time to come on out for a day of fun for a great cause.

If you are interested in making a donation, please make contact with a Squad member or give Mike Godsey a call at 870-740-2248.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1pm and join us at the Walker Park Expo building.

This is truly one of our best assets we have and we need to keep them going!
