Ermestine Douglass Currie

Mrs. Ermestine Douglas Currie, 88, of Osceola, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Methodist South Healthcare in Memphis. Born Oct. 3, 1925, to the late Ernest Douglass and Idonia Douglass, she was a retired school teacher and a member of Eagle Wright Missionary Baptist Church in Butler.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William L. Currie Jr.; one son, William L. Currie III; one sister, Joyce Ann Douglass; and one brother, Arthur Douglas.

Mrs. Currie leaves a daughter-in-law, Janice Currie of Osceola;

Two sisters, Nealia "Cherry" Pegee of Tacoma, Wash., and Eula Marie Douglass of Brooklyn, N.Y.;

Two grandchildren, William L. (and Yvonne) Currie IV of Menifee, Calif., and Brian D. Currie of Maumelle; and

Three great-grandchildren, Shailind N. Currie, Mattie Currie and Jesse Villa, all of Menifee, Calif.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola with pastor Ed Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola. The family will receive visitors from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola.
