Lawrence 'Larry' Benson Edwards Sr.

Mr. Lawrence "Larry" Benson Edwards Sr., 87, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, in his home in Osceola. Born Oct. 6, 1925, to the late George Dewey Edwards and Ollie Mae Edwards, he was a member of Rosa Baptist and a retired U.S. Airforce/WWII Staff Sergeant and a retired security guard.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Terry Lynn Edwards; three sisters, Elsie Tilly, Jean Pryor and Gladys Edwards; and four brothers, Douglas Edwards, Louis Edwards, Grady Edwards and Carl Edwards.

Mr. Edwards leaves his wife, Joann Edwards of Osceola;

Two daughters, Vickie Griffin of Osceola and Shirley Bankston of Batesville;

Five sons, James (and Mary) Tacker of Luxora, Carl (and Joi) Roaten of Memphis, Jimmy (and Deborah) Raoten and Lawrence (and Sherri) Edwards Jr. both of Jonesboro, and Brandon Lee Edwards of Osceola; and

Thirteen grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola with Bro. Billy Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Dogwood Cemetery in Blytheville. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola.
