Larry J. Taylor, 71, of Blytheville, passed from this life Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Born in Black Oak to William Rex and Ruby Shaw Taylor, he was a member of Eastside Church of Christ and was retired office manager for the Carlock Automotive Group.

After high school, Larry went to work for the FBI. He was then drafted and served two years of active duty in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Upon returning to the States, he went to work for Cotner Bevington. Larry was an avid NASCAR, St. Louis Cardinal and Arkansas Razorback fan. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Allison Diane Taylor.

Larry is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marcia Denton Taylor;

Sons, Wayne Sanders and wife, Robin of League City, Texas, and Philip Taylor and wife, Amy of Blytheville;

Grandchildren, Rachel Sanders and Lauren Taylor;

His mother, Ruby Taylor;

Brother, Billie Rex Taylor and wife, Norma of Ozark, Mo.;

Sister, Sondra Hayhurst and husband, Jack of Melbourne, Fla.; and

Special nephew, Craig Meyer and wife, Kim of Lyles, Tenn.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Greg Groves officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
