Mr. Melvin Lee Williams, 65, of Blytheville, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born Aug. 9, 1947, in Blytheville, he was a retired farmer and an Apostolic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claudie Williams and Dovie Anna Steward Williams; one son, Melvin Williams Jr.; and brothers Claudie Williams Jr. and Thomas Williams.

Mr. Williams leaves his wife, Lisa Paige Williams of Blytheville;

Three daughters, Shanell Williams and April Williams of Blytheville and Tammy Carter of Lansing;

Five sons, Melvin Williams III, Kevin Williams, Alex Williams and Eric Williams, all of Blytheville, and Travis Paige of West Memphis;

Eleven sisters, Dessie Gaston, Doris Grimes and Carry Williams of Lansing, Mich., Ruth Baston of Saginaw, Mich., Mary Bennett of St. Louis, Donna Washington of Atlanta, Francine Jackson of Clarkesville, Tenn., Virginia Mhoon and Delores Kelly of Blytheville and Della Reddick and Anita Whitfield of Osceola;

Five brothers, Mark Williams and Eddie Williams of Blytheville, Ronnie Williams and Randy Williams of Lansing, Mich., and Eric Williams of Saginaw, Mich.; and

Seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Temple Church. Funeral services, officiated by Bishop Vancell Lucas, will begin following visitation at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Sandy Ridge Cemetery.
