Vergie Hart Reeves

Vergie Hart Reeves, 94, of Fayetteville, passed from this life Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville.

Born in Wilmar, Ark., to John Douglas and Edith Measles Hart, she was a member of Greenland, Ark., First Baptist Church and a former member of Blytheville First Baptist Church where she taught first grade Sunday School. Vergie was a former employee of the Courier News in Blytheville and an Avon representative for 35 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Reeves; son, Roy David and wife, Sharon Reeves; daughter, Martha Killian; sisters, Elva Reed, Viven Walser, Irene Melton and Carma Cox; and son-in-laws, Philip "Pete" Peterson and Don Worrell.

Vergie is survived by her son, Wesley Reeves and wife, Debbie of Wilmar;

Her daughters, Vergie Peterson of Murray, Ky., Betty Worrell of Monticello, Ark., Laura Keeney and husband, Ed of West Richland, Wash., and Margaret Mann and husband, Mike of Fayetteville;

A son-in-law, Melvin Killian of San Antonio;

Nineteen grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Eric Howerton and grandson, the Rev. Joshua Murray, officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Cobb Funeral Home.
