Mrs. Ruth Virginia Taylor, daughter of the late Charlie Stallings and Mary Brumalow Stallings, was born March 28, 1912, in Colt, Ark., and departed this life Aug. 3, 2013, at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro at the age of 101 years. Ruth was married to Sam Taylor in 1927. He preceded her in death Oct. 3, 1969. She was a homemaker and lived in Blytheville.

Survivors include eight grandchildren, Brenda Brown and Andrew of Pinedale, Ark., Sharon Tate and Larry of Searcy, Sandra Howard and Allen of Blytheville,Trudy Welch and John L. of Blytheville, Judy Smith and Billy Joe of Blytheville, Forrest Mitchell Taylor Jr. and Olivia of Piggott, David Anthony Taylor of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Gregory Paul Taylor of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; and

Nineteen great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a two sons, Forrest Mitchell Taylor and Veron Taylor; one daughter, Virginia Mae Perkins; and 11 siblings.

Visitation was from 6-9 p.m. Monda at Trinity Baptist Church in Blytheville.

Services will be graveside at 1 p.m. today at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett with Pastor Rick Kimery officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. Honorary pallbearers are Robby Taylor, Zachary Taylor, Gregory Taylor, Jeremy Tate, Steve Tate and Billy (B.J.) Smith.
