To the editor:

What a great event! Thank you to everyone for your part in making this all happen.

Many thanks to our Relay Committee, our Relay Teams and all the wonderful volunteers. The Relay Committee and teams work hard year around to raise money to help find a cure for cancer. The fight is not over, but we are making great strides. According to the latest American Cancer Society statistics, we celebrate more than 400 birthdays each day that would have otherwise been lost to cancer. Your donations are making a tremendous impact. Thank you!

Thank you to Nucor and all our other sponsors. We couldn't do it without your support and contributions each year. We sincerely appreciate you.

Thank you to our logistics team for your hard work. As always, you did a great job. And thank you Herb Burnett and your team for the beautiful "Celebrate" and "Hope" signs. They were fabulous!

Thank you Dever Electric, Stracener Brothers and Schueck Steel who furnished tools, equipment and manpower to help get everything ready for the event. Thank you to all businesses and vendors who donated drinks and other supplies, and to Cobb Funeral Home which donated the Survivor Balloons.

Many thanks to the Blytheville Courier News, Ritter Communication and Sudbury Broadcasting Group for all the support they give to the Relay for Life in reporting all the fundraisers, meetings and general event coverage.

Thank you to all the vendors who donated a part of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society.

Special thanks to the Cars and Cycles Against Cancer for their support and contributions to the Relay for Life. For 10 years, they have been instrumental in this event. We could not have accomplished all that we have without their hard work, dedication and support. So thank you Steve Southard and Chuck Wilder and your team for being a part of the Relay for Life Event. We appreciate you very much.

Because of donations raised at Relay Events around the country, nearly 14 million people are alive today who have a history of cancer. To all the cancer survivors and caregivers out there -- we Relay for you. Together we are making a difference and creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays!

It's never too early or too late to start a team. Help us fight the fight.

On behalf of the North Mississippi County 2013 Relay for Life, THANK YOU.
