Winford Carnell Parker, Sr.

Winford Carnell Parker, Sr., 85, of Leachville passed from this life, Friday, June 7, 2013 at his home.

Born at Octa, Mo., he was the son of the late William and Ruth Elizabeth Pyle Parker and was raised in the Arbyrd area. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and had lived in Leachville since 1957. Mr. Parker was a retired farmer, had worked as a self-employed carpenter, and was a member of the Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Paragould. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 5 sisters.

Survivors include:

His wife, Dixie Woods Parker of the home;

One son, Carnell "Bud" Parker and his wife, Lisa of Leachville;

One daughter, Robbie Askue of Leachville;

One step-son, Glen King of Leachville.

Mr. Parker also leaves 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lulu Cemetery near Senath, Mo. with Rev. Eddie Hawkins officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Leachville.
